Specialized 24-hour care for residents with dementia and Alzheimer's. We offer both private and shared suite options with our unique flat-rate pricing model.
We list every fee here so there are no surprises on move-in day. What you see is what you pay.
Your monthly rate is not just rent. It covers a full lifestyle with the care and support your loved one needs every day.
Families often come to us with the same questions. We have answered the most common ones here — and we are always happy to talk through anything else.
Medicare does not typically cover the cost of assisted living or memory care. It may cover short-term skilled nursing or rehabilitation services following a hospital stay, but ongoing residential care in an assisted living setting is generally not covered.
Medicaid coverage for assisted living varies by state and eligibility. In Michigan, some Medicaid waiver programs may provide limited assistance for qualifying individuals. We encourage families to contact Michigan's Department of Health and Human Services or speak with a senior care advisor to explore eligibility.
The most common payment methods for assisted living include private funds (personal savings, retirement accounts, proceeds from a home sale), long-term care insurance, and Veterans benefits for eligible veterans and their spouses.
The VA Aid and Attendance benefit in particular can provide meaningful monthly assistance to qualifying veterans and surviving spouses. A senior care financial advisor or your local Area Agency on Aging can help you map out the options that make the most sense for your family's situation.
Many long-term care insurance policies do cover assisted living and memory care in a residential setting like Bay View Gardens. Coverage depends on your specific policy, benefit triggers, and elimination period. We recommend contacting your insurance provider directly to confirm your benefits and understand what documentation they require.
We are happy to provide letters of care or other documentation to support your insurance claim.
Your monthly rate covers your apartment, three home-cooked meals per day, weekly housekeeping, a personalized care plan, access to all activities and social programs, wifi, cable tv, and all utilities and maintenance.
There are no surprise add-ons for the services listed above. The only additional costs are the one-time entry and processing fees at move-in, optional pet fees, and care level supplements for memory care residents with assessed higher needs.
Assisted living at Bay View Gardens starts with a base rate for your chosen apartment size. For residents whose assessed care needs fall into a higher category, an optional care level supplement may apply on top of the base rate.
Care levels are determined through a structured assessment conducted by our care team, scored on a scale. The score determines whether an add-on applies, ranging from $500 to $1,200 per month. Memory care residents are not subject to care level add-ons — memory care is flat-rate. We walk every family through the assessment process transparently before any decisions are made.
Assisted living is priced by apartment size and includes personalized support with daily activities for residents who need some help but maintain a degree of independence. Rates start at $4,000 per month for a small one-bedroom.
Memory care is a specialized, more intensive level of care for individuals with dementia or Alzheimer's. It includes 24-hour trained caregivers, structured routines, and a secure environment. Because of the higher staffing level and specialized programming, memory care is priced separately, starting at $4,450 per month for a shared suite.
We understand that circumstances change, and we do our best to be flexible with families navigating this transition. Please contact us directly to discuss the terms of residency and what options are available if your loved one's care needs evolve over time. Our goal is always to find the best path forward for the resident and their family.
Yes. We offer respite care — short-term stays for individuals recovering from surgery or illness, or for families who want to experience community life before making a long-term decision. Short-term guests receive the same care, meals, and access to activities as full-time residents.
Many families find that a respite stay is the clearest way to feel confident about the decision ahead. Contact us to learn about availability and short-term stay rates.
There is no pressure and no obligation. Reach out to schedule a tour or just have a conversation about whether Bay View Gardens is the right fit for your family.
